Centers Around the Country Enlist Community Involvement to Benefit Local Education through Pack Ship & Earn Extra Credit Promotion
SAN DIEGO (September 3, 2002) - Every day, many schools struggle to make ends meet. In appreciation for dedicated teachers and schools across the U.S.A., Mail Boxes Etc. (MBE) is implementing a nationwide Pack, Ship & Earn Extra Credit promotion designed to financially benefit local schools.
When a customer uses MBE to pack and ship an item, MBE will donate a portion of the proceeds to the customer’s choice of participating schools. The donations can be used by recipient schools for a variety of educational needs, such as purchasing computer equipment and/or educational software, going on class field trips, and improving the educational environment of classrooms.
"Many schools struggle financially to provide students with up-to-date educational tools. The Pack, Ship & Earn Extra Credit promotion is MBE’s way of supporting local communities by contributing to and enhancing the educational experience for students," said Jim Amos, MBE’s president and CEO. "We see this as another opportunity to provide real help to our customers and the communities we serve, and also a way to thank local educators for the real help they provide students."
In addition to the Pack, Ship & Earn Extra Credit promotion, MBE supports educators through its Teacher Appreciation Program, a gift from MBE franchisees to local teachers. The gift, a pre-paid copy card good for 100 free copies and a VIP card for 10% off document services, is to help offset teachers’ personal spending when working on class projects.
