SAN DIEGO (September 13, 2001) - Due to a national shortage of American flags, many Mail Boxes Etc. (MBE) centers across the country have been offering the public complimentary color copies of the flag for display in homes and businesses. Based on an overwhelmingly positive response to this program, MBE is extending this offer throughout its nationwide network on Friday, September 14—a day the President has declared as a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance.
In the wake of this national tragedy, it is critical that all Americans unite in patriotism by displaying the American flag - the symbol of our nation's pride and freedom. All Americans are encouraged to "fly their flags," whether they be paper or cloth, in businesses, vehicles, and residences in remembrance of those whose lives were lost, and in support of the resilience and resolve of our nation.
